코알라는 하루에 18-20시간을 잔대여.

에너지를 아껴야 되기 때문이래요.
코알라 이름은 "물 안마셔" 뜻이래요. 유칼립티스 잎으로 대부분의 수분을 섭취하고
아프거나 극심한 가뭄이 아니면 물을 직접적으로 마시지 않는대여.
귀엽게 생긴거와는 다른게 숫컷 코알라는 엄청나게 큰 소리로 으르렁 거릴 수 있는데
이 소리는 멀리서도 들린대여. 주로 쎅쑤 할때 멀리 있는 암컷 꼬시거나 다른 숫컷에게 경고용으로 그런답니다.
Koalas can sleep up to 18-20 hours a day! This isn't because they are lazy, but because their eucalyptus diet is extremely low in energy and difficult to digest. They need to conserve as much energy as possible. The rest of their time is spent eating.
*The name "Koala" is believed to originate from an Aboriginal word meaning "no drink." They obtain most of the moisture they need from the eucalyptus leaves they consume. They only drink water directly during extreme droughts or when they are sick.
*Despite their calm appearance, male koalas can make very deep, loud "growling" or "bellowing" sounds that can be heard from a long distance, especially during mating season. This is to attract females and deter other males.
